Mann's Tidewater Waker
Here comes another bait that has been transformed from freshwater bass fishing to saltwater inshore fishing. If you haven't
learned by now, what works for bass will generally work on reds, trout and snook with just a few minor modifications. This Wakebait lure
is doing just that and as the name implies it creates a wake just below the surface.
Angler Outfitters has been testing the new Mann's Tidewater Waker just the last few weeks and wow, we are impressed.
We have our usual guys and gals that are on the water just about every day of the week but we also put this new crank bait in the hands of
some beginners and the results have been the same. This thing pulled in mostly redfish worked in the shallows with the occasional
trout and the surprising flounder. It was expected that the reds and trout would hit this bait hard but the flounder came up
from the bottom and nailed it just as hard.
Bait Action
The new Tidewater Waker is Mann's shallowest running bait ever. It features a hard plastic lip angled to keep it running 1" to 3" deep
and creates a huge wake and a loud "rippling" sound during retrieve. You can Burn it, or slow-roll it and it still stays on top of the water.
The textured body is lifelike with 3-D eyes and has 2 4X strong saltwater trebles hooks. At 3/8 oz. it is great for casting long distances.
With the waters still being warm in most places we fished it pretty fast and the bait puts out a big wake, good noise and exciting blow-ups.
It's like a top water lure on steroids, but I did not get any reports of missed hooked-ups that are common with the top waters. The other noticeable
edge this bait has is when it's fished over grass it never picked up any of it no matter how fast or slow it was retrieved.

Color Selection and Pricing
The bait is available in 8 different colors and priced around $5.39-$5.99. The Clown Holo and the Green Mullet were the two favorite colors
of our testers hands down. Each is 3" long, 3/8 oz. and uses 2 4X saltwater hooks.

Final Results
Mostly redfish went after the Tidewater Waker ranging from undersized to bigger ones over 30" as it was intended. But it's top water-like action
also produced a few speckled trout and a few flounder in one trip. Our east coast guys down south reported catching snook and one tarpon on the flats
with the bait but at times it was a little too spooky in calmer waters. The 16 year old below caught her first keeper red then followed that up with a nice
24" trout on the very next cast - she was throwing the Green Mullet right at sunset.
