Stunt Grunt Cork Lures
This new cork lure by Stunt Grunt hit the market last year but the owner and maker, Robert Maxwell slowed production down a bit
to take in ideas and feedback for bait action and color selection. He then brought it back in 2009 with bigger color selection and more options
for fishing this lure. Stunt Grunt is hand made in Texas but Robert is ready for the market response and able to produce as many as needed.
Angler Outfitters has been testing the new Stunt Grunt for the last 6 months and yes this one is impressive.
We have our usual guys and gals that are on the water just about every day of the week but we also put this new cork lure in the hands of
some novices and the results have been the same. This thing pulled in mostly speckled trout worked 3-5' of water with the occasional
redfish hook up. This cork lure is about in the middle between the overseas produced "Corky" replicas and the original B&L Corky. It's
a quality hand made lure but the pricing is affordable.
Bait Action
The idea of the Stunt Grunt is that the lure is made to perform various "stunts" depending on how you want to fish it. We bent the tail and
I'm pretty sure not everyone bent it the same way but all reports were that the action was of the lure was sporadic like a wounded bait fish.
It zigged, it zagged and WHAM, took some big hits. Some replaced the VMC hook with a bigger size to get more of a suspending lure and when this
bait sits on the bottom it stands up. Tank tested that theory and it worked great. Even with a simulated lumpy sandy and muddy bottom it didn't
affect the lure's ability to stand straight up resting on the bottom. These lures are also made with a built in rattle to add noise attraction
those big girls like.

Color Selection and Pricing
The bait is available in 16 different colors, yes I said 16 and that's the most I've seen in a cork lure. Biggest trouble you'll have is picking
just 1 or 2 colors but the colors are awesome and hand painted. They are priced around $5.95-$6.50, very affordable cork lure.
The Lime Twist, Pearl Chartreuse Head and the Texas Glo Chick were favorites among everyone who tried the lure.

Final Results
Some decent to trophy sized trout went after the Stunt Grunt ranging from 20" to bigger ones pushing 30" as it was intended. But it's erratic bait action
fooled some redfish on several occasions.
